Advanced Mindfulness Course

This eight week advanced course exploring self compassion and deepening mindfulness. It suitable for anyone who has already undertaken an 8-week MBCT or MBSR course.

In these sessions, we take the concepts introduced in the MBCT further, in particular our attitudes to self compassion. Many of us struggle with the idea of being kind to ourselves. This course teaches us how to embrace our strengths and imperfections, in order to better face the challenges we face in life.

"The advanced course has been very challenging but ultimately transformational as I have begun to accept that it is ok to kind to myself and that self-compassion is not indulgent but something vital and wonderful."

Course Details

Our 8-week advanced MBCT course: "Deepening Mindfulness and Growing Self Compassion” is suitable for anyone who has already taken an 8-week MBCT or MBSR course and wants to make the practice of mindfulness meditation and self-compassion a bigger part of their everyday life.

This course combines the MBCT deepening mindfulness practice curriculum, developed by leading mindfulness teachers & researchers at the Oxford Mindfulness Centre (including Professor Mark Williams), with exercises from the Mindful Self-Compassion Programme developed by Kristin Neff and Christopher Germer.

During the course we will explore guided meditation practices together with informal mindfulness and self-compassion practices to do anytime you need them in daily life and cognitive exercises designed to help us become more familiar with our individual barriers to self-compassion and discover new ways to work with these.

Audio recordings and handouts for continued practice at home in between sessions are provided.

There is also an optional retreat day of mindfulness practice that accompanies this course in a beautiful new forest setting. To also book this or to find out more please go to our day retreat page.
